2026 MA Vote by Mail Applications
In order for us to promptly process your Vote by Mail Application, be sure to carefully read the instructions when completing the application:
- Provide a telephone number where we can reach you.
- If you are not enrolled in a political party (also known as Unenrolled or Independent), you need to choose a party ballot for the September 1 Primary. Regardless of your choice, you will remain Unenrolled.
- If you do not choose a party ballot, you will only be sent a ballot for the November 3rd State Election.
- Sign the application.
- Return via USPS, Town Clerk Drop Box, or in-office.
For college aged residents or those who will be leaving Hingham in late August, think about the timing of when you will be leaving Hingham. We anticipate sending out the mail-in ballots in early August. If you will still be in Hingham until mid-August, consider having the ballot sent to your home address for the September 1 Primary. Our experience during the 2024 September Primary was that many college and university post offices returned ballots mailed out in early August because the semester hadn’t officially started and/or the students hadn’t arrived on campus when the ballots arrived.
